I offer you these prayers that I have written myself in the hopes that they maybe of some spiritual benefit to you.

 

PRAYER FOR DISCOVERING GOD'S WILL

Lord Jesus, I come before You today desiring to do Your will.

I struggle Lord sometimes though to know Your will. Sometimes my fears and weaknesses prevent me from answering Your call.

Please Lord fill me with Your Holy Spirit. May my every breathe bring with it a deeper realization of Your divine love for me.  

Lord, let me be inspired by this love and let my every action radiate this love to all I meet.

 

LORD JESUS HELP ME TO LOVE

Dear Lord, love is one of those words that a lot of people seem to use with no real thought of what it is that they are really saying.  Lord through your life on earth, You have shown us that love must be put into action.  Help me Lord to love like you.  When I see people in trouble help me to love them as the Good Samaritan would.  When I see people lost help me to help them find you as a Good Shepherd would.   When I see people caught up in their sin help me to not cast a stone in their direction but rather help me to offer them love and forgiveness as You did to the woman caught in adultery.  Lord when I see people in need of love help me to show them how much the Father loves them as You demonstrated for us by dying on the cross for us.  Lord let me always follow your example of love. 

 

GOD HELP ME TO LOVE

God, I have come to believe that all the problems in the world come down to the simple fact that we, human beings, doubt your love for us.  Help us to look upon the Cross of Christ and to come to a deeper realization of the love You have for each one of us.  May our lives be motivated more and more out of love for you and less and less out of fear.  May I truly hear Your great words of peace “Be not afraid!”

 

LORD JESUS HELP ME TO BE MORE LIKE YOU

LORD JESUS, I come before you knowing that sometimes I judge people to quickly, that sometimes I let my jealousy get the better of me, and sometimes I am slow to forgive others for the harm that they have done to me.  Because of this I do not love others the way that you have asked me to.  LORD JESUS I read in the Gospels how you came to heal the sick, feed the hungry, and proclaim freedom to captives.  Help me LORD to carry on your mission now by healing the wounds that my sins have caused, to feed those who are hungry for love, and to proclaim freedom to those I have imprisoned by my refusal to forgive and by any stereotypes I might have.  Help me to become more like You.  Help me to trust in the love You have for me.  Help me LORD to overcome my human weaknesses and to live the divine life you have called me to by my baptism.

 

PRAYER FOR YOUNG PEOPLE

Heavenly Father, we ask you to raise up in your Church the youth of today.  May they come to see that they play an important role in your Church today.  May they not put off serving you but rather make their impact now by being active members of their parishes, by witnessing to you in their schools and by bringing your love to all they meet.
